And Moses said unto Aaron, What did this people unto thee, that thou hast brought so great a sin upon them?

And Aaron said, Let not the anger of my lord wax hot: thou knowest the people, that they are set on mischief.

For they said unto me, Make us gods, which shall go before us: for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.

And I said unto them, Whosoever hath and gold, let them break it off. So they gave it me: then I cast it into the fire, and there came out this calf.

Exod.32;21-24

摩西对亚伦说：“这百姓向你作了什么?你竟使他们陷在大罪里!”

亚伦说：“请我主不要发烈怒，这百姓专于作恶，你知道的。

他们对我说：‘你为我们作神像，可以在我们前面引路，因为领我们出埃及的那个摩西，我们不知道他遭了什么事。’

我对他们说：“凡有金环的可以摘下来，他们就给了我，我把金环扔在火中，这牛犊便出来了。”
