甘居人后gān jū rén hòu

be content to occupy a position below others (/to take second place)

甘居人后gānjū-rénhòu

甘：甘心于，情愿。
❶指谦逊，甘心处在比别人差的地位。
❷指不求上进，甘心落在别人后面。

甘愿处于他人之后。
