达到了规定的期限。1838年裨治文《美理哥合省国志略》：“参议几十人，每年一任，期满则由民另举。”1854年2月《遐迩贯珍》第二号：“国主在位四年期满，逊位仍侪庶民，复推选新者。倘于期内薨逝，或告退休息，则其副代为之。”1899年张大镛《日本武学兵队纪略》：“四月期满，始授职少尉或仍在各兵舰或分往各兵团（如陆军教导团）。”
